We’re looking for a kind, reliable house sitter who will treat our home with care and make sure our dog, Dottie, feels happy and loved while we’re away. Dottie is a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys company, regular walks, and relaxing around the house. She’s used to being around children, is crate-trained, and very much part of the family.
Ideally, you’ll be someone who enjoys peaceful surroundings and spending time outdoors. It’s important to us that Dottie’s routine stays as consistent as possible, so we’d love someone who will enjoy taking her on a couple of walks a day and giving her the attention she’s used to.
We also have some potted plants and a newly planted hedge that may need watering (especially if it’s hot), but otherwise, there are very few house-related tasks.
This is our first time trying house sitting, and we’re hoping to find someone who will love our home and Dottie as much as we do!
Dottie (our dog)
Feed her twice a day (morning and evening).
Change her water bowl daily.
Take her on two walks each day:
One short walk (about 20 minutes) around the village.
One longer walk (about an hour) in the Wolds, beach, or forest.
Let her enjoy time in the garden—she loves to run and play.
Settle her in her crate at night with a treat.
Keep her on a lead around unfamiliar dogs—she can be nervous if approached.
Plants & Garden
Water a dozen or so potted plants on the patio every few days (daily if it’s hot).
If there’s a drought, turn on the outside tap briefly to run the automatic irrigation for the newly planted hedge.
House
Keep the house tidy and secure.
Bring in any post or parcels (if any arrive).

This is a peaceful countryside stay, so it’s ideal for someone who enjoys rural life and doesn’t mind being a short drive from shops and amenities. You’ll need your own car to get around easily, especially for dog walks in the Wolds, forest, or trips to the beach.
We’re looking for someone responsible and caring who loves dogs—Dottie is part of the family and thrives with regular walks and company. She’s very easy to care for but does best with gentle, calm handling and a familiar routine.
Please be comfortable watering plants every few days, and possibly turning on the garden tap during very hot or dry spells.
This is our first time using a house sitter, so good communication and respect for our home are important to us. If you're looking for a relaxing rural break with a lovely dog for company, this could be perfect for you.
Dottie is nervous around unfamiliar and boisterous dogs.
We walk her off the lead in open spaces and she recalls well. We keep her on the lead in areas close to roads and places where unfamiliar dogs may approach her, we would like you to do the same.
No, sorry.
