Two senior cats in Gracia area of Barcelona for 12 days or more in August 2025

About this assignment

Hello. My husband and I are looking for someone who is calm, clean, trustworthy and responsible and who genuuinely loves cats, ideally experienced with senior cats. We adopted two rescue cats: Wilco (the tuxedo cat) is 12 years old and Ant is 15 years old. Basically, someone who can keep them company morning and night. They sleep during the day.

The tentative Start Date: 12th August. End date: 19the August. We are flexible in the overlap. The idea is to leave the day before and come back 2 or 3 days later = total of 12-13 days. We are aware of the sitter needing to book flight, train, etc. but the start and end dates are important. (still haven't book accommodation yet and will confirm exact dates soon.)

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

--Keep the cats company. Play with Wilco three minutes a day would be great.
--Clean two litter boxes frequently every day.
--Give keeble in the morning and wet food (with Kidney supplement drops for Ant) for breakfast and dinner.
--Watch out for any vomits. Ant sometimes vomits hairball or food. We think she has a kidney issue (hince Kidney Support supplement).
--Make sure Wilco doesn't eat Ant's food.
--Change 3 water bowls morning and night.
--Try to comb Ant and Wilco (if possible)
--Look after my urban garden on the rooftop of the building and plants in the patio.
--Keep house tidy and clean.
--Enjoy your stay and visit beautiful Barcelona.

What are the good features of the property and location

Good features of my property and location are:
Location:
--20 minutes to Sagrada Familia
--15 minutes to Parc Güell.
--two subway stations
--buses to city center and train station
--lots of shops, supermarkets, bakeries, market, etc.
Property:
--great neighbors, quiet. breezy. A/C, patio, rooftop terrace.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We adopted two rescue cats. We've had Wilco (the tuxedo cat) for two years. He lived in a colony of cats and is not used to human touch. Also, he has 3 legs. Ant (the most senior cat) has been with us only a year and was abadoned. She is still a bit nervous around new people. Ant likes to sleep on our chest at night. Both of them are slowly getting used to us and allowing us to pet them. .
August in BCN is very quiet with very little traffic but obviously it's mobbed with tourists. And it does get really hot and humid. We have A/C in the flat but we seldom use it.
