About this assignment

For September and October 2025 -- Woman or couple to care for and give attention to and be affectionate to my well-behaved 12 year old Pomeranian-mix dog (and some porch plants).

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Be here by September 4, you may come earlier but not later than September 4. Onyx weighs 17 pounds. You need to be able to lift her into a car. Walk her first thing in the morning , let out in the middle of the day and walk in the late afternoon or evening.
She is blind in one eye and hard of hearing. She may need a pill and/or eyedrops. She is very good about both. She is very mobile. She was maliciously hurt 11 years ago so slow to trust. You will arrive at least one week before I leave, i.e., no later than September 4 so she can learn trust in you.

What are the good features of the property and location

You will stay in a 2 -story, 4 bedroom, 100 year-old house in beautiful Baldwin Park- a quiet, non-touristy, friendly, neighborhood with and our own little park. In seven to 15 minutes you can WALK to a brewery, 2 wine bars, cafés and a couple of restaurants with outdoor dog-friendly seating and an independent bookstore. Tybee beach is 18 miles. The searing Savannah summer is over so you will be here during the nicest months, weatherwise. There is a small deck where I sometimes eat meals, and a front and back yard.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The bedrooms are upstairs. Two people max. No one under 30 years old. No smoking. No recreational drugs. No heavy drinking, You may use my car if you do not have one. Onyx gets three meals a day. She usually eats while I eat in the room wherever I am. If you go out for a meal you can leave her meal before you go. Walk her 2 to 3 times a day.
