Rural Country Home in West Cork for Peace and Quiet

About this assignment

Consistent, reliable single person or married couple who will care for our home as if it were their own. People who enjoy Irish countryside views. Remote workers or creative types will enjoy the quiet.
Very few neighbours along the 1.6 km lane.
Non-smoking please.
We have fish out in two ponds.
We would prefer that the housesitters don't bring pets as we have allergies and would not want a pet in the home.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Sorting mail, feeding the fish in two ponds, light watering of greenhouse plants, general use of the house to ensure that it is safe and no pests/rodents take over, ensuring the neighbour's cows don't get onto the property - which happens about once per year but is worth noting!

What are the good features of the property and location

The location is peaceful and quiet, great views, relaxing remote location.
Three bedroom home with one office, or two bedroom home with two offices (depending on your needs).
Large kitchen, utility room with washer and dryer, two sitting rooms, 2.5 bathrooms, garage, greenhouse. Lots of windows to enjoy the views.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You will need a car for this housesitting assignment. (We can discuss use of our vehicle depending on the type of license you have)

The broadband/internet is OK (Download 30Mbps/Upload 15Mbps) - we have had two Zoom meetings going at a time with two people working without issue. Netflix works without incident, etc.

This location is quite remote, the lane we live on is about 1.6km and takes practice to get used to in meeting the local farmers on a one-way lane. Location is about 35km from Cork City.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
