Hi There. I hope to connect with the right person(s) who will enjoy 6 months in North Pole, Alaska - just a short drive from Fairbanks and the International Airport. See the Northern Lights! Experience this great destination so many from around the world have treasured. I will be adding to this listing to provide more details. I will be away from my pets and home for 6 months due to a military deployment. My departure and return dates are in flux due to final orders.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Easy and wonderful pets. Golden Retriever (pure bred), chocolate lab mix (elder), cat. These are my pets for many years. They are solid in their routine. No known issues. Easy to acclimate. We have a contract with a local company for snow removal!

Here is an overview:

1. Feed dogs daily.
2. Keep cat auto-feeder full with food regularly.
3. Water for all pets daily.
4. Let dogs outside as needed for exercise and for relieving.
5. Clean cat litter box daily or as needed.
6. Keep house tidy as needed.
7. Monitor fuel oil levels. Contact owner if levels get low.
8. Keep house locked when not at home.
9. Walk dogs daily one time.
10. Play with Rusty as time allows.
11. Keep driveway and walkway clear of snow with snowblower and/or shovels and facilitate snow removal service order as needed.
12. Stay in touch with owner as needed.

What are the good features of the property and location

Skiing nearby. Fairbanks airport nearby. Great and affordable skiing nearby, fishing, hot springs, hiking and more. Alaska is amazing. Culture, food, exploration. I will add more details soon! This is a wonderful new house. Great High Speed Internet. 2.5 baths, 3 bedroom, 2 story.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Amazing experience to be in Alaska in the winter. This home is near a bus line that goes to Fairbanks and is reliable. We do cover the snow removal with an outside company, but you will still need to help a bit with walkways. We hope to connect to someone who wants a great place to be while caring for our pets and will enjoy an Alaska winter.
