This sit would suit someone who enjoys pretty villages and rural country life. Ideally someone who has some experience with Whippets, but it's not absolutely necessary. Whippets are pretty easy dogs to sit as long as you enjoy close contact and bonding with dogs. Sidney is a 4 year old blue Whippet and stands at 25cms. You need a firm hand with him on the lead as he still pulls. In between walks and meals he loves to sit near you - Whippets are incredibly loving. So if you are working or watching TV, expect him to want to cuddle up to you. So as you enjoy being affectionate with a very gentle dog, then all will be fine!
Looking after the house and Sidney our Whippet. Walk times are not rigid but he tends to go out between 8-9am for 40-60 mins. We're lucky as we live near fields and woods so you can let him off the lead for exercise and his recall is pretty good (unless he sees a rabbit). He gets 2 x meals per day. After the morning walk he gets his first meal and his second meal is at 6pm. In the evening between 9.30-11pm we put on his neon collar and let him go for a bit of a "forage" in the field behind the house, then he's ready for bed. :)
Are you are looking for a relaxing break in the beautiful Kent countryside? If you love walks, woods, fields and beaches you'll enjoy our place. I'm looking for someone to look after my dog Sidney while I go on a family holiday. This sit is ideal for anyone who loves country life and sightseeing. It's great if you work from home as there's a proper office to use. There's a small but pretty garden with a pond, decking and pergola to relax under on warm days. Our house is a modest 3 bed semi but we've just renovated internally throughout. You will get a bright double room which overlooks the fields and a new shower room next door. Downstairs is open plan with large oak dining table, a 70" smart TV with all channels you'll ever need and comfy sofa.
We love our location, we're just 15 mins drive from Canterbury town centre and 20-25 mins from most coastal towns (Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Ramsgate, Herne Bay, Whitstable) so excellent for beach days or sightseeing. Our village is surrounding by woods and fields so lots of nature walks and exploring to choose from.
With regard to transport, it's best to have your own car here but if that's not possible, Adisham station is walking distance and takes you into Canterbury in 5 mins. We also have a couple of mountain bikes which you are welcome to use.
