About this assignment
An honest house sitter who appreciates peace and tranquility but not afraid of isolation. It is essential that you have a love of dogs and cats.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed care for and exercise two dogs. Feed and care for three outside cats. Maintain pool and solar system.
Water and care for the garden.
What are the good features of the property and location
A comfortable Cortijo with stunning mountain views all around. Pellet and log burners, double glazing. There is WiFi, Internet access and good phone reception.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
This is a rural location. 1 mile from the nearest tarmac main road. Access is via a dirt track. A drivers licence is essential.

A magical stay in the mountains
Fiona and Frank are wonderful hosts and made us feel relaxed and welcomed instantly. They picked us up and drove us back to their home, which is a gorgeous, rural retreat a magical space nestled in the side of a mountain that is so quiet, with views to die for and all the comfort you could want. The gardens are really sweet and it is such a special location! We were given a delicious vegetarian meal that Fiona cooked and food in the fridge to set us off. We had a lovely evening together before they left sharing stories by the fire. Poppy, their eldest dog, is a delightful and well behaved cocker spaniel who is easy to love and Taco, a recent addition to their family, was a rescue who was very badly treated by his previous owners and who came and found them. Fiona and Frank are big hearted and kind and have earned his trust and given him a lovely home. Now when Yaxibis happy he literally jumps and dances! Taco stole my heart and was a total joy to be with. We travel all the time and love all the dogs we come to be friends with but I will always have a special place for this little, brave pup! I can recommend Fiona and Frank and their dog family totally, they and their place are an absolute delight and we would be very happy to come back.

Lovely sit
I was delighted to look after Frank and Fiona’s lovely house and animals last year. The Cortijo is super comfortable and the cats easy to care for. I enjoyed the stunning views and fantastic walks. The nearby town of Cádiar has all amenities and the Mediterranean is a 40 min drive away. Truly a nature lovers paradise.
