About this assignment

I don't have any pets, but I am looking for someone who will keep my house clean and not damage it. Since it has been rented for 12 years until recently, I haven't had time to do too much with the yard, but you are welcome to putter if you like gardening.

My dates are very flexible at this time, but I will be going to cat sit for a friend so as soon as she makes her plane reservations, I will need to get your arrival date locked in.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Water a few house plants, pick up the mail, keep the house clean, do a zoom with me bi-weekly, communicate in a timely way with any needs, problems or questions, as well as responding to inquiries, be responsible with utility use.

What are the good features of the property and location

The home is comfortable on a safe and quiet street in the country. This is a great area for hiking, fishing (ocean and rivers) and locally grown, wholesome food. There's a university about 6 miles away that offers great music and theater performances and the nearby town of Arcata was once named as having the most artists per capita of any small town in America. We also have some great farmers' markets so there is lots to do here, even though we are not a big city.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You will need a car to get around since I will be driving mine on my trip. Despite what you may have heard about Humboldt County, I do not allow smoking of any kind on the property.
