About this assignment
Helllo! I'm looking for someone who will enjoy and respect my lovely home , understand and care for my cat Charlie, and have some common sense to deal with any problems that arise. Charlie is quite timid so I'd prefer a single sitter please, A couple may be overwhelming!
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
I hope you will enjoy and look after my home, indoor plants and cat while I'm away. You can use my kayak on the nearby estuary too, if you wish.
What are the good features of the property and location
My house is the grey one in the 4th photo. It is detached, light and spacious with wonderful views (the first photo is the view from my house.) It is in an AONB on the beautiful south Devon coast, with many beaches and lovely walks nearby. Kingsbridge is a small market town within a few minutes walk. It has a swimming pool, leisure centre, lots of yoga studios and a cinema! It is situated at the top of the Kingsbridge estuary, which is actually a tidal inlet of the sea. The water is a short walk away. Mystical Dartmoor is about 45 min away by car. Totnes is 25mins away and has the nearest train station with a connecting bus service.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
There are steep steps up to the house. Narrow lanes in the region so a smaller vehicle and good driving/parking skills helpful! There is a reasonable local bus service if you don't drive. Charlie likes company and is affectionate but he prefers not to be handled so don't expect cuddles.

Looking after Charlie in Kingsbridge
This was a truely fabulous house-sit, with a difficult to beat South Devon location and Charlie the cat who was great to look after and no trouble at all. Karen was excellent, providing all the information I needed written down and showing me first hand when I met her before she left me to it. There are some steep steps up to the house from a parking spot for a small car, but the views over the valley below are breathtaking and I spent many an hour sat in and outside the conservatory taking in every detail. The house is in a peaceful location, but you can walk easily into Kingsbridge in 10/15 minutes and the town is a tourist resort, sitting both sides of a tidal estuary and there are numerous countryside ad seaside walks, beaches and places to visit, both on foot or by car or bus. I certainly hope to be invited again in the future.
