About this assignment
I'm looking for someone who loves dogs to be with Momo, my 4-kilo dog, while I am away. She is very sociable, loves to play, and doesn't like to be alone. She can be left alone for a maximum of a couple of hours. I also have a few potted plants that need to be watered, and to walk the farm daily for irrigation leaks, and to keep an eye on the pond levels and let me know if/when it rains (so I can adjust the irrigation from an app.) There may be small gardening chores as well. I am also flexible with dates so please contact me if you're interested in a sit.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
You'll be responsible for Momo and keeping an eye on the property, which entails a walk approximately once a day around to check the water levels of the large pond and two smaller ones.
What are the good features of the property and location
I live on a beautiful retreat in the East Algarve with a natural swimming pool, 25 minutes from Faro Airport. It's ideal for anyone who wants to get away from urban life and be in nature. Excellent local teachers offer on-site yoga and Pilates classes you can join. Only 2 km from Fuseta Beach and Fuseta village, with all amenities, including trains and buses. I have a bicycle for you to use.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Momo is an active dog who needs to be with a human. If you want to sightsee around the Algarve, we aren't a good fit. You can take Momo to nearby towns like Fuseta, Tavira, Olhão, and Faro, but longer trips aren't really suitable unless you take her with you. If you work remotely and on your computer for long periods, you also aren't a good fit.

I had the pleasure of looking after Momo for over two weeks in the Algarve. Momo was a joy to be with, Happy, friendly and playful. She loved company and going out with me daily. She had so much energy for walking (and slept well at night). As she is a small dog, she was easy to take everywhere. I just packed a rucksack and made sure she had food, water and her favourite blanket. As the weather was kind but not too hot we were able to have trips to Tavira and Olhao and also to her favourite beach locally. Her favourite thing was to play in the sand. She also liked to play and have fun with her toys. I miss her so much already and hope to see her again soon. Anna, the owner, is a kind, thoughtful lady who left good instructions /notes and communicated well and kept in touch. I also sent her daily updates with a photo of the day! The apartment I stayed in was tidy, clean and beautiful, with a pretty garden. I was very much "at home" there and enjoyed the morning and evening walks around the retreat grounds with Momo. I even joined in one of the pilates' classes and Momo was happy to stay in the apartment during this time. I would thoroughly recommend dog sitting for Momo and Anna and would happily sit again.
