About this assignment
We are looking for a couple who is reliable, conscientious, and loves animals that will care for them as if they were their own with love. Someone who will treat the house is if it were their own house.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feeding, the dogs and cat, cleaning kitty litter box, playing fetch 2- 3 times a day. Taking out the trash and keeping the house clean, watering gardens and picking what is ripe to use and not rot.
What are the good features of the property and location
We have a fenced back yard so no worries of dogs escaping. We live out in the country, but close to a town and grocery shopping and some very nice restaurants. Our house is 20 minutes from Leesburg in one direction and 20 minutes to Harpers Ferry and Winchester. A very historic area.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We have three levels to the house. All the bedrooms are upstairs but one that is in the finished basement. So you need to be comfortable climbing stairs. All dogs are friendly but bark and jump up. The cat is friendly but it will take a while for him to get to know someone. The neighbors are very helpful.

Our house sit assignment with John and Tracey was a great experience. They have a very nice house on 2 acres set in the rolling hills of northern Virginia. Their three dogs Ringo the black lab and two Aussies Pearl and Findley are well behaved and are used to a routine. They love to chase balls and the spacious back yard gives them ample room to run. And Winston their cat is a little shy at first but quickly warmed up to us and watched TV with us on the couch. The house is close by to a couple of towns and several wineries.Tracey left detailed instructions and made sure we had plenty of supplies for the animals. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on this house sit.
