What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Look after our house and pets! Our dog is 13, has arthritis and has slowed down . He still likes a short walk most days to the local park and to chase balls, but he won't bring them back as it's too much effort. He requires 2 meals a day, with liquid medication on his food in the mornings. The cats just want lots of love. There won't be much to do in the garden during the winter, but we would like you to pick up the dog poo. We'd like the house to be kept warm, clean and tidy, the house plants watered and the rubbish put out once a week. We'd like our house sitters to be in the house most of the time, but the dog can be left for several hours, so trips out are possible.

What are the good features of the property and location

Ours is a detached house in a quiet close with lovely neighbours. There's plenty of space to park a car and we may be able to arrange for the use of a car during the sit. Having only recently moved in, we've had the kitchen and laundry replaced together with new windows and doors so the house is warm and toasty. The redecoration may still be a work in progress. There's a spare bedroom with a double bed and wardrobes for your use. We live in a a small town with shops, supermarket, gyms, pubs and lovely parks and are close to the countryside. We live a 15 minute walk away from the main railway line to London (40 minutes) and the coast (30 minutes). We have good wifi. There's large towns nearby with a bigger range of shops and leisure activities. The town has a great community spirit and has just won a regional "in bloom" award.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The dog is getting old, but he's content with a short walk most days and a chance to chase a few tennis balls. If he was to become unwell we will leave details of friends who can provide assistance in getting him to the local vets. This is the family he usually stays with when we go away on shorter trips, but we didn't want to burden them for this longer one and we don't really want to leave our house empty over the colder winter months. You will have to put up with the cats trying to sleep with you on the bed, or shut them out!
