About this assignment

We are looking for someone who will take good care of our house, garden, dog, and cats while we're away and treat our home the same as they would their own. We love travel and are happy to support other travelers and pet lovers.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keeping the house in good condition inside and out; walking our dog, Finn, twice a day, and feeding our dog and cats. During warm weather months, this may involve watering the garden. We also need someone to water our indoor plants and keep the house clean and tidy while we're away.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood surrounded by mature oak trees and nature. We live near a small creek with a paved walking/cycling trail that is beautiful in all seasons. We are located a couple miles from the DC border and the Metro train is accessible by a 5-minute bus ride from two blocks up the street. The Capitol building and National Mall are a 15-minute train ride from our local station (Takoma Metro)

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Potential house sitters should consider whether they enjoy walking an energetic (albeit friendly and fun) border collie, and if they think they can keep the inside and outside of our home maintained.
