About this assignment

Lucy and Anthony live in a farm in North Yorkshire set in its own beautiful valley. We both work part time as mediators. We love walking, training our horse to the cart, golf, tennis, fishing, sailing and biking. We need a sitter because we go away on holiday quite often.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Please walk the dogs, we usually walk them about 20 mins per day. The chickens, geese will need feeding twice a week in the summer which takes about 10/15 minutes maximum. We can arrange for a local farmer to come and feed the horses every day, however if you would like to do this during your stay, please let us know and we can adjust. The livestock will be taken care of. Perhaps water the plants but they hardly need much watering. A gardener comes in once a week who looks after all the garden if you would like to do any gardening then please do.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a five bedroom stone build Farmhouse that used to be part of the local estate at Newburgh Priory, Coxwold. The house is in its own secluded valley and has a very cosy sitting room with open fire and a large farmhouse kitchen with an aga. The spare en-suite bedroom is large with twin beds. It has all the usual amenities internet, washer, dryer etc. The internet connection is strong enough to allow us to both work from him with no problems.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

This is a farm house, so some degree of getting stuck in is required. There will be a significant amount of time with the dogs in particular, so if you don't love dogs, you need not apply!
