About this assignment

We’re looking for a caring, reliable person (couple or family) who genuinely loves cats and enjoys a peaceful surrounding. Someone tidy, respectful of our home, and who will treat it as if it were their own. Ideally, you’re happy spending some time each day with our cat Heidi — she’s friendly and loves a bit of company.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main priority is taking good care of Heidi — feeding her, cleaning her litter tray, giving her a bit of attention, and keeping her happy and relaxed. We’d also appreciate basic home care such as collecting mail, watering a few plants, and keeping things clean.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is bright, comfortable, and easy to look after — with a cozy living area and everything you need for a pleasant stay. The area of Mettmann and where our house is situated is calm and safe. It is only 5 minutes walking distance from the town centre with some shops & cafés. Public transport is close by also with direct trains to Duesseldorf, so you can reach the bigger city or explore the region easily. It’s the perfect place to slow down, enjoy some quiet time, and have the company of a sweet cat.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We’d like someone who can commit to the full period of our trip and feels comfortable with a friendly outdor cat. Non-smokers preferred. Heidi is easy to care for but thrives on routine — so a sitter who’s often out for long days might not be the best fit. This is an ideal assignment if you value calm surroundings, enjoy a relaxed rhythm, and want a homey base.
