About this assignment

Someone reliable, communicative, clean, and caring! Experience with cat care is preferred. You are welcome to stay with a friend or partner (just let me know!).

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The top responsibility is caring for our two cats! You would feed them twice a day, scoop their litter (we have two boxes), play with them, and make sure they have water at all times. It would also be great if you could water our plants too! Most of them are low maintenance.

What are the good features of the property and location

Located in one of the most popular neighborhoods of New Haven: East Rock. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and small groceries nearby. New Haven is a popular and cool place with plenty to do, as well as much to do in the surrounding towns.
Just steps away from the amazing East Rock Park, the apartment is one unit in a 3-unit house. It is a large 2-bedroom, one bathroom on the second floor with a private back patio and a shared front balcony. There is a master bedroom with a queen bed, then a second office bedroom with two desks and two monitors, as well as a pull-out couch, Dishwasher, and microwave in the unit. The washing machine and dryer are shared in the basement of the house. Street parking is abundant and free! Lots of bike rentals and scooters around, too.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

New Haven is walkable, and there are shuttles and buses. However, some find it more convenient to have a car, especially for going to larger supermarkets and other towns. We have bikes you can borrow and can tell you about the shuttles.

Our cats are extremely friendly, so they might ask for more of your attention than a typical cat (especially when they are hungry)! They are never violent. They are extremely food-motivated, so you would need to be careful leaving food out.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
