Recharge with cats and donkeys in Sardinia, Italy

About this assignment

We are looking for an experienced couple over 30 years of age (min 2, max 2 people), service minded, kind, respectful and reliable and who appreciates our type of lifestyle to care for our 9 animals (7 cats and two donkeys) and our home while we are away next year. The dates will be 12 days including two days before our departure to explain everything. The following are our prerequisites :
- Has experience with cats and donkeys.
- Has experience living in the countryside.
- Can keep the house clean.
- Can rent a car.
- Non-smoking.
Our home is mostly solar powered and has its own well. The ability to troubleshoot is important. Please note this is a non-paying sit.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

You will feed 2 senior donkeys and clean their shed. Keep their tub filled with water.
Feed 7 cats from a senior to a kitten. Clean their litter boxes. Cuddle and play with them and make sure they all come in at night.
Keep the house clean.
Send us daily updates.

What are the good features of the property and location

There is lots of space, quiet and privacy at our country home, tucked away on a private road on a hill surrounded by an olive grove and fruit trees. You will have a private room and a private bathroom (photos will be provided for interested sitters). There is a very big terrace to watch the sunset and an open sky full of stars and the light of the moon. There are yoga mats for those who practice. This sit is perfect for you if you want to recharge and are interested in spending time with animals and relaxing to the sound of birds chirping whilst reading a book, or spending some time at the beach. The neighborhood is safe and ideal for taking walks or runs in nature (not at night though). We are 5km away by car from the beach and 3km away by car from the historical center, stores, restaurants and the boardwalk. The airport is 25 minutes away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Please note that this sit is not suited for those wanting to go sightseeing as distances are wide and animals cannot be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time, and need to be brought back in at sunset (a schedule is provided).
Sitters also need to rent a car as there is no public transportation in the countryside.
We do require references please, and a police certificate only if you are outside of the EU. A video interview will be requested and a second one if you are a potentially suitable sitter.
I'm sorry but our kitchen is for vegetarians so we don't cook meat or fish in the house.
This sit is therefore, best suited for a couple that wants to recharge, go to the beach, enjoy the town and relax in nature with friendly animals. While we do have fast Wi-Fi sometimes rain storms can cause power outages for a few hours therefore, we don't recommend this sit for people who depend on Wi-Fi for work just in case there happens to be a power outage.
