A home in Cornwall & a 2 year old doggo

About this assignment

Preferably a female but we would consider a couple.

Must be calm, patient and respectful of a nervous dog’s boundaries and not force yourself upon him.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed Bandit and possibly walk him if he feels comfortable with you (this is something we are working on with him), so it’s not imperative.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in Truro, Cornwall, not too far from a beautiful riverside park, where there is a cafe.

We are 10/15 minute walk into the centre which has a selection of nice cafes, restaurants, bakeries and shops.

You’ll also find the bus station, which is great for exploring.

Cornwall has some incredible sights to see, you can take a bus to some stunning spots all around Cornwall, such as Newquay, Padstow, Perranporth and Porthtowan where you will find incredible beaches and lovely restaurants too if you’re a foodie we can point you in the right direction!

To go further, the train station is about 25/30 minute walk.

We have some beautiful woodlands, pretty parks and stunning beaches not too far away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Bandit is around 2 years old.
We rescued him in February 2025.
He was rescued from a truly horrible life, where he was abused and neglected.
He had completely and utterly shut down at the tender age of 6 months old.

His trust in humans is growing day by day, but it can take him a little time to warm to new people.

He’s very sweet though, and has never shown any signs of aggression, he just runs to his spot in the sofa or takes himself to his bed if he doesn’t wish to engage.

We always tell people to ignore him and allow him to come to you - this seems to work. He is very into his treats and they definitely help the cause. :-)

Can I bring my own pets?

Restrictions: It is possible to bring your own pup, if we can arrange a meet & greet before.
