About this assignment

If you are seeking a house-sitting opportunity and have approximately six weeks available in February/March 2026 to spend in the midst of beautiful mountain scenery in a wooden chalet with a unique view, and you enjoy the company of a friendly and adorable dog, this is the ideal location, and we would be happy to meet you.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Actually, it goes without saying that you are responsible for our beloved dog and our house. For us, this means that you take care of our home (including cleaning and treating our belongings with respect) and our dog (walking/ brushing/etc. on time).

What are the good features of the property and location

Our chalet is located in the Swiss Alps at an altitude of 1,000 metres in a small village. The chalet is located on the outside of the village in a small neighborhood with a great view over the valley. Travelling by public transport is possible (every hour a bus), but having your own car is definitely an advantage. There is a shop in our village, and there is a town with various supermarkets and shops about an 8-minute drive away.There are many beautiful walking routes in the immediate neighbourhood (especially with the dog). For winter sports, there are some great ski areas in the region. There is a charming town 20 kilometres from our chalet. Our region has many winter sports opportunities, wellness facilities and various enjoyable places to visit. Naturally, there is also a wide range of restaurants.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We believe it is important to first make personal contact by email, telephone or video call. It has to feel good for both sides. We also assume that the HouseSitters will be here 1 or 2 days before our departure to get to know us and our dog and, of course, to exchange information. It's important to comply to the agreed period. You cannot bring your own pets with you during your stay here. We do not allow more people to stay in our house than agreed during this period, and no parties. It is, of course, a matter of mutual trust.
