About this assignment
We are looking for a sincere and kind petsitter who is independent, honest and has common sense - as well as a genuine respect for all creatures, especially cats. We'd like to meet a nonsmoking, clean person who will provide safety and tender loving care for our pets. Please, no canned responses. We'd like to know why you feel this sit would work for you.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Your single, most important responsibility is keeping our two healthy, indoor only cats feeling loved and secure. Please enjoy our home and take responsible care of it. The cats eat wet cat food for breakfast and dinner, and have dry food and water always available. They are well behaved, accustomed to getting a lot of attention. Their litter box is a Litter Robot which is amazing, you'll need to empty it every 4-5 days. We'd appreciate you watering the indoor and outdoor plants once a week and bringing in the mail. We are neat freaks - you don't have to be but please keep the place clean.
What are the good features of the property and location
*Please check map/ad for location before replying, thank you!! This is a large home with a stunning 180 degree ocean view and constant wave sound. Our building is quiet and the area very safe. We live in a genuine Southern California beach town of about 25,000. It is easy to get around on foot or by bicycle. Outside your door are 3.5 miles of walkable beaches and a world famous big-wave break. Estuary across the street if you enjoy birding. If you meditate or do yoga, you will be in heaven. Great big soaking tub available, and streaming/smart TV with tons of channels if that's your thing.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are looking forward to your email saying why this house sit would be a good fit for you. Basic Spanish and a valid passport/visa would be ideal, though not required. Our vet is in nearby Playas de Tijuana and available by phone/email. Amenities are located a 5-6 block walk away in the main area of town, a physically active person would enjoy walking the beach and pier. Downtown San Diego and all its attractions are 25-35 minutes away, depending on traffic. If you’re a heavy drinker, smoker, or offended by gay lifestyles this is not the house sit for you!

A week at the beach with Ollie & Kona
My time at Linda & Andi's home was exactly what I needed: a chill environment with 2 fur babies that were both calm & entertaining to watch; the soothing sound of waves just outside the patio door, a stunning sea view that kept me glued to chilling at the house, and a peaceful ambiance all around. Taking care of Kona & Oliver was quite easy; Oliver yearned for attention and food; Kona for space and observation. They both had their moments of zoomies, and I enjoyed throwing treats down the hallway, getting snuggles from Ollie on my lap, and seeing their interaction with each other, which seemed like a quiet yet consistent competition going on. Linda and Andi were very welcoming and showed me everything I needed to know before leaving, making sure I had contacts of people nearby as well as all the necessary info to stay in comfort and luxury. Imperial Beach is a lovely beach town and I did venture out a bit to explore but truly the 'icing on the cake' was being next to the ocean and beach each and every day for this week pet-sit. Immense gratitude to Linda and Andi for this opportunity & I do hope to be back one day.
