About this assignment

Honest, open and responsible. Shares a love and care for our unique home and animals. Would delight in a winter in Santa Fe, NM and enjoys quiet and reverent setting.

We will be traveling East Asia for about 3 months. Approximately (dates will firm up soon) January 15th, 2026 to April 12th, 2026.

There will be snow most of the time of the stay. It's the high desert, so we get all seasons. It's beautiful and sunny most days of the year, even in the winter.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

- Chickens: gather eggs, break ice and fill water, refill food, change bedding
- Snake: offer a thawed rat every other month, refill water, spot clean tank
- Cat: refill food and water, clean cat box & give pets
- Water plants
- Sort mail
- Prepare home for monthly cleaning (included in the stay)
- Attend to any home urgent matters that need care

What are the good features of the property and location

This is a completely unique home and property: massive crystals, hand painted ceilings, rose quartz and ancient fossils in the floor.

It in a location by a whole trail system so it feels remote and out in nature, but it's just 10 minutes from town. The home is on about 6 acres.

We will pay for a house cleaner to come once a month.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

- You will want a car, and one that handles the snow well
- We have a heating system, but the home doesn't stay extremely warm
