Three cats in Mallorca

About this assignment

We are an Italian couple living in Mallorca, in a house in the countryside near Felanitx, in the south of the island. In this house we live and we work, almost as digital nomads. We love to travel in the most unplanned way possible, but we have three cats living here. So we started using another platform with combined subscription, and maybe if we need a sitter it's because we were chosen ourselves to do a sit! It's really amazing. Now we've moved from that platform and joined MindMyHouse, but always with double subscription.

Our cats are living outside on the terrace and they go wandering all over the woods but we need to make them feel safe when we are not there, so we are looking for somebody who will enjoy staying at home a reasonable amount of time.

The house is in a very silent countryside though it's very close to the road connecting Campos and Felanitx, two big and well served towns, where you will find everything you may need. It's a very good location to discover the south of the island, with some of the most beautiful and breathtaking beaches in Mallorca, natural parks, typical pueblos and, in general, genuine and not so much touristic places to discover. We don't need somebody who is stuck in the house all day, because we want the cats to know that somebody is there: maybe one time you want to stay all day out and come back in the evening, another time you can stay inside the house, go out in the afternoon and come back late in the night. We just want the cats to feel safe.

A car is mandatory, both for your own needs (shopping, discovering) either for safety, in case anything should happen to the cats, to take them to the vet.

Sorry, but we don't accept applications from families with kids. We would love to but we have bad experience with children, because Ginger doesn't like them and when we happened to have home friends with children Ginger and her sister went away.

Besides, we would prefer the sitters not to have guests; or, at least, to ask about having guests at our home on the very first meeting/videomeeting with us. Thank you.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We feed the cats twice a day: once in the morning, about 7-8 am and in the evening, between 6 and 7 pm, depending on season, how busy we are etc.

They need fresh water every day. They use the garden for their needs, so, no need to clean and wash any litter.

Ginger can come inside the house (privileged! Yes, we know) and sometimes in the morning or in the late evening can eat some yoghurt (that we make, sugar free). He often sleeps with us.

Cooper is the last arrived, rescued from the street. He's very sweet but also very independent. He can stay sometime inside the house, but has to be controlled because he would go for food jumping onto the kitchen.

Vicky is independent, sweet with humans, territorial with other cats, but maybe she's getting old so she's not so aggressive with other cats as she used to be.

Please send us regular daily updates (with photos or videos too, if you can), just to let us know they are eating regularly at the right time and that Ginger is relaxed and he's not staying outside all the time (that could happen if he's not comfortable with the sitter).

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a country house just middle way between Campos and Felanitx, in the south of Mallorca. We have fast internet connection (since our job needs it) and many streaming subscriptions (since we love movies). We have a big terrace with a pergola where you can enjoy the table and chairs if weather is good.
Campos and Felanitx are both big towns, just 5-6 km away each and with many big shops and stores. In Campos you can enjoy Saturday typical market, while in Felanitx you have it on Sundays.
We have two bedrooms (our and guests'), two bathrooms both with shower, one living room / library and a big openspace kitchen.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

They need to be able to rent a car if ours is not available (which depends on where we are going) because a car here is mandatory.
They need to be familiar with countryside lifestyle and issues (changing a gas tank, saving water as much as possible...) and be quite self sufficient, though we are always available and the house is not completely isolated. Problem solvers are always welcome.
They have to be comfortable sharing the house with us before we leave so that we can show around everything without hurry.
