About this assignment

We’re looking for a responsible, caring house sitter who genuinely enjoys cats. Norbert and Pan are friendly and easy, but they do appreciate attention and care. Our house plants are very low-maintenance, so the main priority is simply taking good care of the kitties and keeping an eye on the house.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Your main responsibilities will be caring for the kitties. This includes feeding them twice a day, refreshing their water daily, and cleaning their litter boxes regularly. We also ask that you water our houseplants about once a week. Other than that, just enjoy the peaceful space and keep the house feeling lived-in while we’re away.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is a beautiful custom-built house on acreage, surrounded by forest and natural beauty. The house sitter will stay in a spacious guest room with a dedicated workspace, large closet, and en suite bathroom. There are stunning views from every window, and you can access great hiking trails right from the front door. It’s an ideal spot for anyone who enjoys peace, quiet, and time in nature. We're also fully set up for remote work.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Because we live in a rural forest area, it’s important to know that we’re about a 30-minute drive from town for groceries and errands. If being outside the glow of city lights makes you anxious, this isn't going to be a good fit. If you love looking up and a dark sky full of stars, you'll love it here.

While this winter has been fairly mild so far, the area can get snow, so having a reliable vehicle suited for winter and rural roads is important. Something like a Subaru or mid-size SUV does well here—small sedans will struggle.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
