About this assignment

We are looking for a responsible person or couple to stay in the house and take care of it and the animals. There are two cats living around the house and a donkey lives at the back of the property with a stable and pastures.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The cat Mia needs attention and seeks human contact. The tomcat Meo is often out and about and usually only comes home to eat and rest. Their food should be replenished regularly. Both cats have limited access to certain rooms in the house.
The donkey Mariana needs to be fed in the morning and evening, and she enjoys company at any time during the day.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a rural setting on the enchanting island of Faial. Our neighbors are farmers with lots of grazing livestock. We often get visits from their chickens, dogs, and other cats. There are many hiking trails and swimming spots, and the nearest beach is just 10 minutes away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We live in an old converted stone house, with the living areas on the ground floor. Dehumidifiers, electric heating, and a wood-burning stove are available. Shopping facilities in Horta are 20 minutes away, a car is available.
