About this assignment

Someone who enjoys the country life and appreciates off grid living and nature, and, senior well behaved, loving pets (1 dog / 1 cat).

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Love and care for senior pets. Small dog and cat who still have a spring in their step but like their own space too. Watering of plants and looking after the home.

What are the good features of the property and location

Plenty of natural wildlife, different species of butterflies and birds, families of rabbits and the odd eagle flying over. Sun and moon rises and settings.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Start and end dates are flexible and negotiable.

You will need transport to shop and explore the area. Despite the off grid country location it is a modern house and easily accessible by main country road (300 metres), motorways (10mins in each direction), and, airport (25 minutes away). The nearest beaches are 30 minutes away, either by motorway or a nice scenic route over the mountain.

The local village with a shop, bar and church, is 5 mins away by car and 20 minutes on foot.

There is no WiFi or connected TV, but excellent mobile data coverage.

At present hot water is filtered through an outside gas boiler and can be a bit temperamental.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Pleasant stay in the orange groves

I had a nice 5 week stay at Helen's place, in the middle of the orange groves. Nice and flat, so some lovely easy walks there with Bas her sweet little dog. Very easy to look after. & also Tink her old cat, who mostly sleeps. The house is off grid (all quite straightforward) but has everything you need. A nice 20 minute walk takes you to the village with a couple of cafes and bars. A good base for exploring Murica. If you like peace and quiet I would recommend it.
