About this assignment

We are looking for a house and dog sitter for our home in Chapel Hill, NC while we are away. We have a calm 11 year old small poodle mix named Ziggy who loves meeting new people. He is non-shedding. He can be left alone for up to 8 hours, but will be thrilled about your presence as much as possible. We are looking for a person who is neat and respects our space and keeps a clean house. We are looking for a responsible and mature non-smoking individual or couple.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

* take care of Ziggy, including 1 walk per day,
* water plants (inside once a week, outside only potted plants as needed),
* occasionally cut the grass (or coordinate with a lawn service),
* bring in the mail,
* communicate with us about any potential maintenance issues.

What are the good features of the property and location

Chapel Hill is a sweet college town and part of the greater Triangle area with plenty of entertainment, shopping and outdoor recreation opportunities. We live in a wooded neighborhood with a lot of privacy but walking distance to grocery stores, a cafe, a movie theater and restaurants as well as a bus stop. Chapel Hill has free public buses. Our house is single story and has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and an office/TV room. The house has 2 decks and a screened in porch. We have high speed wifi and parking in front of the garage. Will consider letting the sitter have limited use of a vehicle.
Chapel Hill ill is beautiful in the spring.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Ziggy is very chill and is fine with being left alone for hours at a time, but would really love as much time with you as possible, going for walks or sitting at home together. He goes out in the yard in the morning and evening and gets one longer walk a day. He is quite low maintenance but can be a little dog reactive when meeting other dogs in leashes on walks. We would like the sitter to be willing to alert us to any potential maintenance concerns on the house.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
