About this assignment

We're looking for a single person or a couple to lovingly care for our beloved friends during our time away. It's important to us that you have experience with cats, as both our beloved friends are very sensitive to change and the relationship that develops.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We're looking for someone who will truly care about keeping them company and marking them with a kind and respectful presence while we're away of course, enjoying meanwhile our beautiful region.
Patience, empathy, respect, and love are the qualities we look for in our future guests.
Among the main tasks during your stay, we ask you to feed the cats, clean their litter box, and let them out into the garden/terrace at least twice a day. If your interaction allows, games and cuddles are always welcome.
It's important to note that these two cats were taken in from a wild habitat and have had a difficult past, so they struggle to trust strangers. Fioca (white) is more experienced in going outside and loves the fresh air. Little Baghera (black) is slowly getting used to it but is still afraid of many things, which is normal.
We would also ask you, our guests, to care for some plants and the small patch of greenery in the garden (watering), but this doesn't require much effort or time.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our apartment with a private garden and pergola is located in Gambarogno, about a 10-minute drive from Locarno and about 15 minutes from Bellinzona.
Easily accessible by car (we have our own private parking) or by public transportation. A small port is also a 5-minute walk from our house, where boats dock for convenient access to the city of Locarno and its surroundings.
Italian-speaking Switzerland is a small region of Switzerland blessed with a highly attractive microclimate. The diverse landscapes, valleys, and lakes are diverse, offering something for everyone, whether you're looking for authenticity and history or a more sophisticated experience.
We're also very close to Italy, just a 30-minute drive away for further exploration. We'd be happy to provide you with more information on the options available to fully enjoy Ticino.
Our apartment is located in a complex of five independent units (three apartments and two studios). It's simple but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Each roommate enjoys their own privacy thanks to the optimal separation of living spaces and terraces/green spaces. The spectacular lake view and the tranquil location will ensure you enjoy a truly memorable stay.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

- Request for loving care of our cats (they must be taken out in your presence at least twice a day. From experience, we do this in the morning and evening, or when we're home. The cats should not be left outside in your absence)
- Our location in Magadino (Gambarogno) should be considered when evaluating whether you can only get around by public transportation or whether it's better to have your own car.
