Shoveling snow on the walkways
Maybe watering indoor plants once during the stay
Our home is an 1800s Victorian located in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont, literally steps away from tons of restaurants, shops, art galleries, museums, and hiking! Enjoy views of Mount Wantastiquet and walk to lots of hiking trails from our home; if you have a car you can access many more in the area.
Vermont is magical in the summertime. Go blueberry or strawberry picking, take a dip in a swimming hole, have a picnic, visit a local farm, try a maple creemee, go for a hike or kayak in the retreat meadows. Brattleboro has one of the best farmer's markets in the state every summer Saturday.
There's a lot to offer in winter too! We have a local t-bar ski hill with $5 lift passes, and we're 35-60 minutes from several ski resorts (Mount Snow, Stratton, Bromley, and several in MA as well). Catch a show at the Latchis theater, visit the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, and do some shopping in our vibrant downtown. Check out the Brattleboro Outing Club for cross-country skiing, or strap on some snow shoes and go for a hike. We have an ice skating rink, ice fishing on the meadows, and the winter farmers market - while not quite as magical as the outdoor market - is lovely too.
Our home is old and historic, comfortable and charming! We have high-speed wifi, a fully-equipped kitchen, and (in warm months) a cozy sunroom with amazing views of the mountain and town.
Accommodations include an attached apartment that we use for hosting visiting family and friends. It has a full living area, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom with king-size bed. We typically have sitters sleep in the apartment but spend most of their time in the main house to ensure Bucket is getting attention. :)
Accessibility - You have to climb a few stairs to enter our house, and the bedroom in the guest apartment is at the top of a flight of stairs. It's best to have a car for exploring, but even without one you can still get here and there is a ton within walking distance! There is an Amtrak station (on the Vermonter line) an 8 minute walk away. Unfortunately Uber/Lyft are not really present in town.
No, sorry.
