About this assignment

Sitter/s that are responsible, clean, comfortable with looking after an acreage, have experience with acreages or farms, cutting grass with a lawn tractor and flower garden maintenance.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Mostly enjoy the peace & quiet, with lawn mowing, weeding and feeding an outside cat. Years with significant rain fall can require the grass to be cut about every 4-5 days. This typically tapers off as the summer progresses. The total property is 10 acres, with about 2-3 acres of grass. The pasture will have cattle, and if there any issues we just ask that our neighbour farmer be called to let him know.

What are the good features of the property and location

The property is in a rural setting (on a tar & chip road), but close enough to shopping, a large city, with a full panoramic view of the Rocky mountains.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Need to be comfortable in a rural location, along with lawn and flower garden maintenance. Also, we tend to go for long periods of time - about 4 months.
