About this assignment
Someone who loves dogs and is caring & patient with an older dog. Someone who enjoys being in a garden and village/countryside location bus connection but limited.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
To feed Patch twice daily and take for a short walk around the church/village.
Possibly to water plants (depending on length of stay) pick tomatoes or veg and enjoy!
What are the good features of the property and location
Chalet bungalow with lovely garden to enjoy and relax, greenhouse (hopefully veg in summer) 10mins to Burghley House (Elizabethan and Stamford (Lincolnshire). Trains to London
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Village location with bus connection every hour (not evenings or Sundays) to Peterborough (trains to London) or Stamford (15-20mins) village has
Shop, Pub and John Clare cottage,
Can I bring my own pets?

We had a lovely time
This was our second sit for Gillian & Michael, with Patch and Walter. As we knew mostly what to expect with care for Patch and Walter, our intitial time after arriving was catching up and going over the few updates. Gillian bought a few little gifts for our kids which they were very excited with - especially the Bluey flannel for our youngest who did not stop carrying it around with her ha - as well as a few treats for us with was so appreciated. It was so nice to spend time with Patch again - he was my son Jack's 'favourite dog' from our time house sitting - and Walter is easy to care for. The house is well set up regarding amenities and is a comfortable family home. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend Gillian & Michael as hosts.

Loved this sit
Words can hardly express how much I loved this sit! Gillian and Micheal were exquisite hosts, picking me up from the train station, letting me stay the night before their departure, and generously setting me up with lots of food and snacks for my sit. They also gave plenty of recommendations and suggestions for things to do while they were away which I appreciated. They gave clear instructions before leaving so I was well prepared, and communication was excellent before and during the sit. Their home is beautiful, spotless and cozy, in a picturesque historic villiage. Very close to Stamford, with a bus stop minutes from the house to take you to nearby towns. Looking after Patch was such a joy and delight! She was so precious and so easy to take care of. We enjoyed short local walks, and lots of playtime and snuggles at home. She’s very happy just to get lots of love and treats! I’m missing her already. Also loved looking after Walter the rabbit! I am so touched by the warm and gracious hospitality of Gillian and Micheal, and would return again for another sit in a heartbeat. Highly recommend sitting for them if you have the chance!

A wonderful sit
We had a wonderful sit at Patch, Daisy, and Walter’s house. All the animals were sweet and well behaved. Gillian left us gifts including delicious fresh baked bread! We enjoyed their comfortable home and garden. Their neighborhood in the countryside is beautiful and peaceful. The bus stop for the quick ride to Stamford is right around the block. It’s a beautiful town and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon there. We also visited the poet John Clare’s house and had a good meal at the local pub. Communication with Gillian was fun and easy. We recommend this pet sit.

We had a lovely stay
We had a lovely stay with Gillian & Michael's pets, Patch, Daisy and Walter! The family were super welcoming and kind when we arrived and it was lovely to get to chat with them before they headed off. Patch is super easy to care for, and the bunnies provided hours of entertainment for our children who would sit and watch them bouncing around - especially our youngest, who is also named Daisy! I would highly recommend sitting for them.
