About this assignment

Whilst my dogs need a loving & caring sitter; one is old and the other young so their needs are different, I need someone respectful in my home whom I can trust and rely on. Although the animals can be left for several hours I do ask that any house sitter be at home every night.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I will ask any sitter to prepare the dog food (a simple recipe) and feed the dogs and the cats, to walk the dogs daily; the older one needing something short and slow, the younger one something longer, and last thing at night, I would appreciate it if they would keep the house in the state in which they found it and keep the grass mown. There is plenty of gardening if any sitter is interested but I will not hold them responsible for it. I will., however, hope that my houseplants would be watered.

What are the good features of the property and location

The property is a short walk from the beautiful Lough Derg where you can swim, fish or take a sauna. There are stunning walks within easy reach and Killaloe, the original capital of Ireland, is only 5Km away with a walking/bicycle path all the way - I have a bicycle available to borrow.
The bus into Limerick city and Ennis via Scarriff stops at the bottom of the road and a pub with good food just a few minutes walk away.
The property has plenty of outdoor space and a beautiful river running beside it. It has a peaceful garden to spend quiet afternoons reading in.
We enjoy cooking so the house is well stocked for anyone who enjoys our passion.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The property is in an idyllic rural setting which some people love but isn't everyone's cup of tea. We do not have a TV but we do have WiFi, lots of DVDs and treasured books which you are welcome to read - with clean hands!
It is an old stone house so, though not especially cold, it's not a hot house and you are advised to bring slippers for the stone floors and a warm jumper for the evenings, not to mention a rain coat for the Irish weather.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
