About this assignment

We are looking for a house sitter who has owned dogs and is confident dealing with a 15 month old puppy. Otis enjoys his walks and we would like our house sitter to be comfortable with two or three 45 minute walks per day. The hills are on our doorstep so beautiful walks await!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The only responsibility is to care for Otis. He will be 15 months by the time we go on summer hols. He already has good recall and is a very friendly boy who is good with other dogs and people.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are lucky enough to live in a beautiful small town surrounded by stunning countryside. We live on a quiet road that leads straight into the woods. There are lots of walking options and Otis has good recall so can be let off lead for relaxing walks in the hills. The photos show our home and the spare bedroom where you will stay. There is also a few photos of Otis in the woods at the end of our road.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

I'm writing this while Otis is 11 months old. He's a friendly pup who loves people and other dogs. He's never aggressive and he doesn't pull on the lead too much- especially if you have treats and remind him to walk to heel. He does get excited when he sees another dog, so you will need the strength to pull him back and calm him down with a treat and some strokes. He's getting better every month so I think by the summer it shouldn't be an issue. But we wanted to mention it so that people with less strength or with an existing weakness/injury are aware.
Otis doesn't go upstairs and sleeps in his crate in the utility room. He has the run of downstairs but only under supervision- we don't trust him not to have a chew on the couch cushions! But he can be in the utility room and garden unsupervised for short periods. By the summer we expect that he will be ok to have the freedom of the ground floor.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
