Cat and dog care in Yorkshire village near to open moors

About this assignment

We are looking for a sitter who is experienced and confident in caring for a cat and dog together.. Also able to manage and keep the house secure and in good order.
We are new to Mind my House but have been using house sitters for several years with other organisations. Reviews available on request.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Apart from looking after the house the sitter would be responsible for caring for Alfie our 2 year old minature schnoodle and Pushkin our 7 year old tabby cat.
Alfie is a bright and lively dog who needs at least 2 good walks a day, usually a longer one in the morning. He enjoys being off lead and running to retrieve balls. Pushkin is an affectionate cat who enjoys plenty of attention although can enter and leave the house via a cat door. In early autumn there may be some basic tasks to do in the greenhouse and garden.

What are the good features of the property and location

We have a comfortable Edawardian house on 3 floors with fast broadband. Burley is an attractive village with a good range of facilities and activities including cafes, pubs, restaurants and a Coop. The house is less than 5 minutes from the station- a few minutes to Ilkley and 18 minutes to Leeds. Buses to Otley and beyond. There are many walks in the surrounding countryside and nearby moors.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

At 2 years old Alfie is now well trained (about to take the Kennel Club Gold Award). He is lovable and engaging although does need plenty of attention and regular walks Usually he and Pushkin get on OK. He is now less boisterous with her than when he was a puppy. Sometimes when she feels harassed she needs prompting to stay in the living area. She enjoys being cuddled.
