House and pet sitting in central Portugal

About this assignment

We're looking for a clean, mature and independent adult who is gentle and relaxed with the cats and knows how to set boundaries with our active young dog.
And in general keep an eye out on the house and surroundings.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The responsibilities of the pet sitter include:
Feeding the cats 2-3 times a day
Walking the dog twice a day and feeding her twice a day
Feeding the chickens twice a day (and collecting eggs) and cleaning the chicken pen once every 10 day (if it's a long stay)
During the hot season water the garden

What are the good features of the property and location

Lots of hiking trails, wooded areas to stroll, rivers with designated swimming areas, horseback riding, and more. Some of these activities require a car.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Sorry but our house is not suitable for families with children.
We live in the countryside so to fully enjoy the surrounding area you will need a car, you will also need a car to access a supermarket.
If you don't have a car we can pick you up from the train or bus in Castelo Branco and you can still enjoy some of the hiking trails nearby our home.

Can I bring my own pets?
