About this assignment

Hi, I live in Millcreek in the Salt Lake City area with great outdoor access. There's skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, among other things close by. My gf and I will be out of town for 2 weeks this Spring and are looking for someone to house sit and watch our dog and cat. Our cat is easy and our dog is well behaved, she's not high energy but does enjoy walks and going to the park. You could make yourself at home and have access to skis, snowboard, climbing gear, mountain bike, or road bike!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Taking care of our senior cat and well-behaved dog is the main responsibility of the house sitter. Smoky is a shy and sweet cat, she'll come out for wet food, she loves pets and head rubs. She has a mystery allergy and takes a pill with her food, so don't be surprised if she sneezes a lot. Ruth is a sweet, well trained dog. She likes to play catch, walk, run, hike, whatever.

What are the good features of the property and location

This is a split level home with 2 apts, we're upstairs and there's a tenant downstairs. There's lots of natural light and a view of the mountains. There's everything you'd need in the kitchen with dishwasher, standard bathroom, in unit laundry, portable window AC, swamp cooler, central heating, Ring doorbell. 2 bedrooms with desks, dining area, and living area with a comfy couch and TV with streaming. Fast internet, deck with patio furniture and a grill. Grocery store is around the corner, big cottonwood and little cottonwood canyons are maybe 20 min to the bottom without traffic if you like to ski, climb, mtn bike, trail run, or hike. Not far from I80 and I15. It's on a quiet culdesac street, so it's very safe.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Mainly that they're ok with taking care of Smoky and Ruth. Smoky gets fed wet food twice a day, with medication in her second meal. Ruth gets food twice a day, and needs to be let out or get taken on a walk a few times a day. She's ok on her own for 4 hours or so, 6 hours if she's had a chance to run around and get tired. She's never been alone at night, so the sitter would need to spend nights here.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
