About this assignment
Hi there we are looking for someone (or a couple) that loves dogs and cats. Who is willing to spend time around the home with them. We want someone who is conscientious and clean and responsible.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed and water for all pets and pick up dog poop. Change cat litter 3 times a week.
Water a few plants. Keep yard tidy.
Snuggles and scratches for the pets. You would be welcome to walk the doga but its not necessary. We do ask if you go out that you are no longer than 5hrs house so they can be let out to pee as they are kenneled when out.
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in Sun City on western side of Phoenix, a quiet 55 plus friendly neighborhood. Our back yard backs on to the golf course at the second tee which faces west for beautiful views of white tank mountains and sun sets . We have an orange tree for fresh squeezed oj to make your morning mimosas. There are plenty of restaurant's, grocers and retail stores all within 15 min or less. We have a car you can use. There is a screened in patio for privacy so no bugs! But also an enclosed outdoor area for sunning and cooking on the bbq.
We like to cook so huge kitchen with lots of gadgets. Also there are many recreational centers with amazing pools to use.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We have a car for your use but if you want the bus the stop is about a mile away. The neighborhood is very quiet at night so no loud music outdoors in evening. Afternoon sun does get plenty hot we do have a mister for those times. Mornings are really pleasant. A note our dogs are all fairly large but well behaved. We dont require them to be walked although they love it if you do.

Summer Fun in the Sun City!
Providing care at Ken and Karen’s Sun City property offers a highly quiet and private experience for sitters. The home is spacious and includes an enclosed screened porch that is perfect for enjoying beautiful evening sunsets, nature, golfer views and quiet, private relaxation. The community itself is very serene, and the homeowners generously left the use of their car for us to easily navigate around the neighborhood. Mechanically, the pet care routine is very straightforward: the property features a secure yard, meaning no physical walks are required for potty breaks, and the dogs have an autonomous, continuous feeding and water station set up in the home. When stepping outside the side patio door, there is a fully abundant orange tree, which was a wonderful addition to the stay. Ken and Karen are polite, communicative, hilarious duo and graciously permitted us to use the pantry and ample items available in the refrigerator. At times it can be a high-energy environment with the four active and very friendly dogs ( I call them the four Sun City guardians) that have firmly established, self-directed habits and routines. The cats L.C. and Lily are such lovely cuddly balls of fur to just love on and chat with. An excellent fit for independent sitters who excel at managing autonomous animal dynamics and navigating a busy, fully lived-in household footprint!
