Housesitter Needed For Private Tropical Jungle Escape

About this assignment

We are looking for someone who wants a quiet getaway and who enjoys walking trails and being surrounded by nature. A mature, responsible and clean individual or couple.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Duties will include watering the garden, weeding, sweeping the porch, and keeping the grounds clean, as well as keeping an eye on our 2-bedroom house also located on the property.

What are the good features of the property and location

This is a new and modern riverside construction, a tranquil one-bedroom climate-controlled fiber internet equipped cottage with a perennial vegetable and herb garden in Costa Rica’s best climate- Atenas. This feast-for-the-eyes fully solar powered (also on the grid for backup) retreat with a full kitchen (gas) and laundry (both washer & dryer) is a mere 2 miles from the center of the beautiful small mountain coffee town, and is enveloped by a striking river, bananas, coconuts, mangos, papaya and frequented by coatis, guatusas, tayras, iguanas, motmots, toucans, and many more. Organic food (fruits, vegetables, poultry) can be delivered weekly.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

A car rental would be helpful, although the property is walkable to town for someone in good shape. Ubers are also a great option and widely available from the entry of the property, a 7-10 minute beautiful shaded walk from the house with some steep slopes- our five-year-old walks it with us- but it does require someone accustomed to walking a few hills, before you get to where you can take an Uber.
