Come hang out with a super sweet small dog in a charming small town in scenic PA

About this assignment

We have a super shy, 20 pound, spaded, shaggy,4 year old, male, white and black Shih Tzu who needs a kind and caring caretaker while his family is traveling abroad. We prefer low key easy going guests who have a natural ability with pets.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed our dog twice a day. Let him into our fenced yard to go to the bathroom a couple times a day. After he warms up to you, take him for a leashed walk in our beautiful, dog friendly, and very walkable neighborhood. He is good being alone in the house for up to five or six hours during the day. He sleeps well all night in his own bed upstairs after going to the bathroom. He is healthy, takes no medicine, and only barks when he is having fun.

We will need one indoor plant watered once a week, and our outdoor plants/bushes as needed.

What are the good features of the property and location

Classic well maintained 1930 house with guest house in charming small borough where most people care about their community and neighbors. Endless enjoyable walks in the tree filled borough with many dog lovers and numerous bird species. Short 20 minute drive to Hershey Amusement Park with free tours, rides, waterpark, and restaurants three seasons of the year. Short 20 minutes drive to Ski Roundtop Resort with both winter snow slopes and summer programs for kids. Short 20 minute drive to mountain trails, rivers, creeks, and streams. 15 minute walk to large creek for summer swimming. 5 minute walk to our uncrowded community pool where you can enjoy an afternoon of swimming for $20 per person, waterslides included. We have a full bathroom, powder room, and three bedrooms in the main house with a king and two queen beds. We have two queen beds in the guesthouse with a very sleepable large couch. Guesthouse has a full bathroom and a kitchenette with a basketball play area on the alley. Also, we have many board games, foosball, and corn hole.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We prefer guests who can arrive before we leave, anytime on July 3rd or 4th, stay in our guesthouse, and meet our dog while we are still here. Also, it would be great if you can stay the full two weeks we are traveling and leave 'after' we return on July 17th. We are flexible with your departure day and time.
