About this assignment
We're looking for someone responsible and tidy who likes cats! You need to be available to feed them every morning and evening. They are indoor cats so we need you to be careful not to let them out.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
You will need to feed the cats canned food twice daily, clean their litter box daily, and make sure their water fountain has water.
For longer stays, we ask that you water the indoor plants weekly.
In hot weather, we ask that you water the outdoor plants every few days.
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in a quiet neighborhood one block from Piedmont Avenue, which is a lively street with restaurants, cafes, bookstores, pharmacy, grocery store, movie theater, bus stop, etc. 1/2 mile from the freeway and 1.5 miles from BART station (commuter train).
It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bath house with a study, back yard, washer/dryer, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, etc.
We don't have AC, but we do have an attic fan, ceiling fans, and portable fans. Last year there were only 3 days all summer when it got too hot
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
The house is up a flight of stairs. It's not possible to bring your own pets. There's generally plenty of off-street parking. If you want to use the second bedroom, we need to know in advance.

I had such a great time
I had such a great time watching for Chai & Amelia! They were very lovely, sweet and fun to play with. The neighborhood was so fun! Perfect location for walking and enjoying the city. Communication with Deborah & Toby was very easy! They we let very communicative, had clear instructions. I had a great time and I hope to sit for this family again!

Chai and Amelia are such sweethearts
Chai and Amelia are such sweethearts! This was a great sit with these two darling house panthers. We didn't get to meet in person, but Toby and Deborah are warm, friendly, kind, and communicative, and I'd love to sit for them again.

Sweet cuddly kitties
Toby and Deborah were wonderful before and during my sit. They made time to show me the house and made me feel welcome and comfortable. Chai and Amelia are two sweet playful kitties and I’d watch them again in a heart beat. They were friendly and snuggled up with me every day. I had a situation come up where I needed help from Toby and Deborah while they were on their trip. I didn’t want to burden them during their vacation but they were responsive and readily available to help me during my stay. Then again the final day of my sit I had a situation come up with my vehicle and they were completely understanding and I did not feel rushed at all. I would recommend their pets to sit for anyone who loves sweet cuddly kitties and the thorough communication from the owners.

Chai and Amelia were just the best
Chai and Amelia were just the best. They’re the cutest kitties and super friendly. As soon as I came in, they were right there, saying “hello” Deborah left easy instructions for their care. Her home is comfortable and accessible to anything you’d like. Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, etc. Walnut Creek is a wonderful town to visit and Deborah has the best garden in the back where you can just relax and chill.

Generous and thoughtful hosts
Deborah & Toby have the single most thorough and comprehensive homeowners guide we’d ever seen! It provides every detail you’d need to care for their great cats, and does it with a sense of humor. Chai & Amelia are independent and loving. Best of both worlds. Their home is clean, warm and inviting and they are generous and thoughtful hosts. We’d be happy to return to care for Chai & Amelia again.
