About this assignment

Looking for mature responsible animal and nature lovers to care for large dogs and an old little one on a ¨cortijo¨near the Mediterranean in the South of Spain. Till now we are on trustedhousesitters website.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Taking care of our pets All dogs are extremely lovely and very fond of company.
There are the 3 year old Mastin, a 6 year old mix-breed and a 1 year old one. The smallest one is 12 year old.
It is easy with all the adult pets, the youngest one, Pum, still has her meals two times a day. If you are strong enough you can take her for a walk, but always on the lead. In Spain it is not allowed to let dogs loose. The small and old one has to be kept apart from all the big ones!!! You don't have to walk the dogs, there is enough room for them in the orchard.
Our two cats always stay outside near the house. You'll have to feed all pets in the morning.
Chickens have to be fed in the morning and adore leftovers. Fresh water is very important for all our pets, especially as long as the weather is hot.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our house is comfortable and located near the hills of the Sierra Nevada. Inside you find the sitting room, two bedrooms, a spare room, kitchen and bathroom. There is a large veranda with an outdoor kitchen. The terrace is large and flat. Our cortijo is situated at 150 m above sea level in an agricultural surrounding, the so called ¨kitchen garden¨ of Europe. It is a ten minutes drive to the beach and to Motril on good roads, only the blind alley leading to our home is steep and unpaved. We have nice views at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada with several walks nearby. Motril is a small town on the Costa Tropical. It has all kind of shops,

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Sitters should have experience with large dogs. Sitters need a car but it is possible to travel by public transport to the busstation of Motril and from there take a taxi to our home

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
