• Breed: Cockapoo — hypo?allergenic, doesn’t shed, so no hair around the house. • Temperament: More like a large cat than a typical dog — lazy, independent, but loves a snuggle. She can be timid around other dogs, so walks should be calm and thoughtful. •

We are looking for a responsible, mature, friendly, pet-loving person/couple to care for our comfortable, well-equipped house, garden and cockapoo while we are on holiday.
Your main role is keeping our dog happy, healthy, and safe — that includes daily walks (morning and evening), feeding twice a day, giving fresh water, and lots of cuddles and playtime. We'll also need you to keep an eye on the house: bring in any post/parcels, water a few indoor plants once a week, and take the bins out on Friday night. Mostly, just be present — sleep here each night, keep things tidy, and let us know if anything seems off. We want both pup and home to feel loved and looked after while we're away.
You'll be staying in a well-maintained semi-detached house. You'll have your own large double bedroom on the first floor with a TV, plus use of the bathroom. Downstairs there's a comfortable living room and a kitchen/diner with access to the garden — a lovely sunny patio at the back, perfect for morning coffee or evening wind-down. The laundry room is in the lean-to. If you play, there's a piano in the kitchen/diner, so this place might particularly suit a musician. One car parking space is available.
The location is hard to beat. It's walking distance from Redhill town centre and the main train station, with direct trains to the coast, London, and beyond. A corner shop is one minute away, and another is three minutes' walk. For dog walks, Redhill Common and Earlswood Brook are nearby. Two wild swimming lakes — Mercer's Lake and Buckland Lake — are a 10-minute drive, as well as wood fired sauna. Lots of places for great runs and walks in nature. Reigate, with its lovely cafés, restaurants, and boutique shops, is a 7-minute drive or a pleasant 40-minute walk. And the Surrey Hills (including Box Hill) are close by if you fancy exploring.
Non-smoker and non-vaper — this is non-negotiable. We'd prefer to meet in person beforehand, or at least over Zoom, so we can show you around, introduce you to our dog, and make sure everyone's comfortable.
On walks, our dog must be kept on a lead at all times. She has a habit of running off looking for squirrels and it's not worth the risk. She can be timid around other dogs, so you'll need to be aware and thoughtful to her needs — avoid close encounters and keep walks calm and low-pressure. She's more like a large cat than a typical dog: quite lazy, perfectly happy with a mid-to-late morning start, and not a huge eater (small meals are fine). She may want to sleep in whichever room you're in, or she might choose the loft room — either way, you should be happy with her coming in for a snuggle.
Please note she cannot be left on her own for more than 2 hours.
Our dog is completely hypoallergenic - she doesn’t malt at all & no hair anywhere! - so suitable for anyone with allergies
She has no medical requirements at all — just love, company, and sensible walks. Our neighbours are nearby and available should you need any assistance.
If this sounds like a good fit, we'd love to hear from you.
No, sorry.
