Care for Well Behaved Jack Russell in Riverside Location. Henley on Thames. Sitters can be a couple or solo.We are a semi-retired professional couple who are lucky to live in a friendly charming village.
We have a Jack Russell dog, he will be 16 years old in June. Looking for a person or persons who would like to stay in a fabulous riverside village who will enjoy country walks, country pubs, the River Thames and have an affectionate dog to look after. Someone willing to walk Shabba twice a day for 30 or 40 minutes.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To walk Shabba twice a day locally on a lead (he has become deaf from old age) for approximately 30 mins per walk, feed twice a day and provide care and companionship as they would for their own dog if they had one.

Shabba has become increasingly deaf with age. He should be walked on the lead at all times since he is oblivious to traffic noise and being called back or told to stop,

What are the good features of the property and location

A 4 bedroom, 5 reception room detached home set in a tranquil cul de sac in the heart of Lower Shiplake. There is public transport to and from the village (train and bus) but you may want your own transport to travel further afield. Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury and Ocado will deliver online
Weekly gardener employed. Bi weekly cleaner and a dog walker can be arranged with 2 weeks prior notice for any long days away from home.
The entrance hall with cloakroom provides access to all the principle rooms on the ground floor. The newly fitted kitchen with an adjacent utility room with a door to the side of the property. The dining room is set to the front of the house and double doors lead into the impressively proportioned drawing room with doors into a garden room. Both the study and TV room have pleasant garden views and there is access out onto the patio from both the TV and the garden room.

On the spacious galleried landing with window to the garden, there is an airing cupboard, family bathroom, master bedroom en-suite, a dressing room and a further 3 double bedrooms.

Outside to the front, a generous and mature front garden with a path to the canopied front door. A driveway provides ample parking for 5 cars, we have an electric car charger. There is a double garage and a side gate to the enclosed southerly aspect rear garden. The garden has a full length patio and the remainder is lawned. Mature trees and shrubs surround the private garden.

Brampton Chase is located in a private road within a 5 minute walk of the village shop/post office, butcher, village pub, railway station (providing mainline access to, Henley centre, Wargrave, Twyford, Reading, London Paddington and the Elizabeth Line) and The River Thames..

There are comprehensive shopping facilities in nearby Henley town centre. There is a half hourly local bus service connecting to Reading and Henley.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Sitters need to consider flight and travel restrictions if the current war in Iraq continues. They should already reside in the UK several weeks prior to any sit dates to lessen any potential disappointment from disrupted travel.
