What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Because summer in Southern Spain brings intense heat (frequently exceeding 35°C), we are looking for detail-oriented, conscientious individuals who take pride in caring for the garden and property maintenance. Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Newly Planted Garden & Drip System Monitoring: We have a beautiful, newly planted Mediterranean garden and lawn with the majority being on a newly installed automated irrigation system. Because these plants and grass are young and still establishing their root systems, they are highly vulnerable to the summer heat. This requires a daily visual check to ensure no zones are blocked, drip lines haven't popped, and young plants are receiving adequate water. Occasional mowing of the small grass area is also required.
2. Houseplant Care: A collection of indoor houseplants will need hand-watering on a regular basis.
3. Swimming Pool Upkeep: Keep the pool clear and functional. This involves a weekly water test, emptying the skimmer baskets, operating the pool vacuum, and topping up the water level when high summer evaporation occurs.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are an English retired couple located in the peaceful area of Maro with its secluded beaches and near to the famous Cuevas de Nerja but the beautiful bustling town of Nerja is only 5 kilometres away with all its shops and bars. There is a regular bus service and a good cycle track. There are many trails to walk in the National Park which our house is at the foot of and coastal walks.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are looking for someone for 14 weeks so please bear in mind that we are in the European shengen zone with its restriction of 90 days in 180 if you do not hold an EU passport.
