If you're a mature, friendly cat lover who'll treat our home and our cats with the same care we do, we'd be delighted to hear from you. If you enjoy a calm, comfortable place in one of Hamburg's loveliest areas — and you genuinely like cats — we'd love to hear from you.
A quick word on the home itself, because it matters to us and we'd rather be clear than vague. Our flat is furnished with genuine antiques, original artwork, and high-end pieces — beautiful things, but also irreplaceable ones.
In short, we're looking for someone who lives in a home the way they'd want a guest to live in theirs: relaxed and at ease, but naturally attentive. If that's you, we think you'll feel right at home here.
By "careful" we mean concretely: no food, drinks, or wet glasses set down on upholstered surfaces; no rearranging of furniture or leaning against the art; shoes off indoors; and a general habit of noticing and protecting your surroundings rather than treating things as casually replaceable.
The same goes for our appliances. Our Italian espresso machine and grinder are wonderful — and easy to damage if used incorrectly. They're yours to enjoy if you already have hands-on experience with this type of equipment; if not, we'd ask you simply to leave them be (we'll happily point you to the kettle and everything else).
The most important thing to us is simply that our two cats feel loved, safe, and at home. They're our family.
Our boy is 16, a former Shanghai street cat with a big personality and a soft heart. He has kidney issues and asthma, so he's on a special diet and gets a daily inhalation. Don't let that worry you — he knows the routine perfectly and goes through it happily and cooperatively. We'll show you everything.
Our girl is a 12-year-old Chartreux: healthy, sweet, and a total foodie. She'll eat anything she can get her paws on, so a bit of attention at mealtimes (and around the kitchen) keeps everyone honest.
Beyond feeding, cuddles, and the inhalation routine, we'd just ask that you enjoy our home and treat it with care.
The flat is a spacious 200 m² with a large living room, attached dining room and kitchen, plus a big rooftop terrace — perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
The location is hard to beat. We're just five minutes from the Aussenalster, with its green spaces, riverside walking paths, boat rentals, and pubs. Dammtor station (trains and subway) is also five minutes away, the city centre with all its shopping is ten minutes off, the harbour with the Elpbphilharmonie and a lovely neighbourhood full of bars, restaurants, and little shops is a short (10-15 min) bus or subway ride away.
You'd have your own bedroom with two beds (each 2 m × 1 m, which can be pushed together or kept separate) and your own private bathroom. There's also a fitness room with a yoga wall, a Peloton bike, and a rowing machine, which you're very welcome to use.
The master bedroom and its bathroom won't be available for your use, though the cats are free to come and go there as they please.
We have an Italian espresso machine and a high-end grinder. They're wonderful if you know your way around proper espresso equipment — so please feel free if you have the experience, but we'd kindly ask that they're left alone otherwise.
Our furniture is high quality — including some unique antique pieces and valuable art — and it all means a lot to us, so we're looking for someone who's naturally attentive and careful with a home.
If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to hear from you. Tell us a little about yourselves and your experience with cats — we'd love to find the right person to leave our boys and girls in good hands.
No, sorry.
