About this assignment

We’re looking for a responsible and experienced house sitter who will give Hana lots of love and attention. She is an active, happy dog who needs two walks a day, plenty of playtime, beach trips, and cuddles. We prefer someone who works from home or spends a lot of time at home, as Hana enjoys company throughout the day. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who will treat her like part of the family and keep her happy and well cared for while we’re away.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed Hana and ensure she always has fresh water. Clean and maintain her pee pad and take her outside regularly for walks and potty breaks when possible. Be patient with occasional accidents, especially at night, and simply clean up after her. Provide daily play, attention, and affection, and treat her with kindness at all times. She may bark at noises or people outside, so patience with a vocal dog is important.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is a comfortable second-floor apartment (accessed by stairs) with two bedrooms, one bathroom, reliable internet, fans, and air conditioning.

The location is ideal on Hawaii’s North Shore. We’re a 10-minute walk to a bus stop with access to Honolulu, and about 20 minutes from Haleiwa town with shops, restaurants, and supermarkets. A bike path runs nearby with a bike available to explore the area, and the beach is just a short ride away. Street parking is available, and renting a car is easy.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are looking for a responsible, caring, and experienced dog sitter who genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs. You should be comfortable caring for an active, vocal dog and handling occasional accidents with patience.

It is important that you are reliable, respectful of the home, and able to provide Hana with daily attention, walks, and companionship. Preference is given to someone who works from home or spends a lot of time at home. Previous pet-sitting or dog care experience is strongly preferred.
