I am looking for a responsible, animal-loving house sitter (or couple) who can take care of my home and my three furry companions while I am away.

My ideal sitter is someone who enjoys a peaceful coastal lifestyle and doesn't mind a bit of dog walking! Since we have a dedicated home office and high-speed 5G internet, this listing is absolutely perfect for remote workers or digital nomads who want to work in a comfortable environment and spend their free time by the sea.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Your main responsibilities will be:

The Dogs: Feeding them once a day. Our older dog just needs two short, gentle walks a day to do her business. Our young Border Collie, however, has plenty of energy and will love a sitter who enjoys active walks, playing fetch, or exploring the nearby beaches and hiking trails with her.

The Cat: He is very independent and spends most of his time outdoors in the countryside. You’ll just need to make sure his food bowl is filled.

The House: Keeping the place clean and tidy, and treating our home with respect.

Our home is a comfortable, light-filled, two-story house designed for relaxed living. It features a lovely front porch—perfect for your morning coffee—and air conditioning in the bedrooms to keep you cool during the warm Mediterranean months.

For remote workers, we have a dedicated home office space with reliable high-speed 5G internet, ensuring you can work seamlessly. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs, and the house includes modern conveniences like a washing machine and clothes dryer. (Please note: there is no dishwasher or microwave, but everything else is ready for a comfortable long-term stay!). One of the three bedrooms will be closed for personal storage, leaving two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms completely at your disposal.

The Beach: The coast and the village center are just a short, flat 800-meter walk away (about 10 minutes), where you'll find local cafes, restaurants, a supermarket, and beautiful beaches.

Nature & Hiking: The area is surrounded by stunning landscapes, including nearby La Azohía and the Cabo Tiñoso natural park, making it a paradise for hiking and outdoor walks with the dogs.

Convenience: You get the perfect balance of a quiet, safe neighborhood to relax and work, while being just a short drive away from the larger towns of Puerto de Mazarrón and Cartagena.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Before applying, please take the following points into consideration to ensure we are a perfect match:

Dog Energy Levels: You will be caring for two very different dogs. Our older dog requires a gentle, low-energy routine. However, our young Border Collie needs daily active exercise and mental stimulation. She is wonderful and loving, but she is NOT a couch potato! You should be genuinely happy to spend time walking and playing with her.

The Cat's Lifestyle: Our cat lives a very independent, outdoor lifestyle in the surrounding countryside. If you are looking for a lap cat that stays indoors all day, he isn't the one! You just need to be comfortable with him coming and going as he pleases.

Kitchen Amenities: As mentioned, the kitchen does not have a dishwasher or a microwave. If you rely heavily on a microwave for your daily cooking routine, please keep this in mind.

Transportation: While the beach, local shops, and cafes in Isla Plana are within walking distance (800 meters), having a car (or renting one) is highly recommended if you want to explore the wider Murcia region, visit major supermarkets, or get to the nearby cities of Cartagena or Mazarrón easily.

Respect for the Space: One bedroom will be locked for our personal storage, but the rest of the house is entirely yours. We expect our sitters to treat our home, furniture, and appliances with care and keep the place clean.
