About this assignment

I am looking for someone to look after our French country home in BUrgundy , which we have just bought, while we are in Australia.Ideally, we would have the same person or couple for the entire period of care, from September 2026 to early April 2027. However, the most important period is September to November so the garden can be watered.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keeping the house secure, watering and managing the garden, checking and maintaining the pool, checking on any problems and letting us know. We will be delivering packages and items from time to time and these will need to be received. We would also like to discuss the possibility of liaising with a builder to start some renovation work.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is just on the outskirts of Saint Clement sur Guye in Southern Burgundy, France. It is a lovely little village with a listed 12th century church, a little restaurant in the warner months and lots of beautiful walk paths. It is close to many of the major attractions of Burgundy, 50 minutes to Beaujolais, and a half hour drive to a TGV station which gets you to Paris in 1.20 minutes. The house is large (176m2) with a pool and large garden. It has stunning views for miles!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We have just bought this house and had to return to Australia before we took possession. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can help us set it up and receive items of furniture as they are delivered. We will be furnishing it with the bare minimum until we arrive in April 2027. There will be a queen bed and bed linen, a sofa, TV, fridge, a table and chairs, kitchen equipment etc. But please be aware it is not fully kitted out! The sitter is welcome to bring anything they wish. We are also hoping that a local builder will be starting on some renovations in the ground floor. This is to be confirmed and will be discussed with the sitter in more detail.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
