We are looking for reliable pet lovers who will feed the pets and keep them company! We have 1 dog and 4 cats.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

In the morning everybody gets breakfast and in the evening at 5.30 everybody gets dinner.
The dog needs company so we ask that the housesitter doesn't go out all day and then in the evening as well. Pongo doesn't need much play time. You won't need to take him for walks while we are away. The cats will just do whatever they want and will be sure to let you know when they want a cuddle. Whenever you go out or go to bed the dogs will need to come in and the cats need to be put out.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is on the island of Panglao. We have a 3 bedroom bungalow set in approx an acre of land, usually a peaceful place unless there is a fiesta in the village. The island has lots of beautiful beaches and the sea is perfect for snorkelling and diving. Our nearest beach is 1.5km away. The main tourist area, Alona beach, is 6km away and has lots of dive shops, bars and restaurants. In the other direction it's about 11km to the town where you find all the supermarkets and shopping malls. Our house is set back from the main road 100 meters and there are a few little stores and restaurants nearby.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Utilities work pretty well here but it is still a remote location and things are not always 100% guaranteed. The local electricity supplier has occasional outages but we have solar power so between these 2 things we have a fairly uninterrupted supply. We have a deep well to supply water to the house and a rainwater tank for backup. (drinking water we buy in 20 litre bottles and put on the cooler). We have high speed internet, fine for streaming, most of the time. If there is an interruption to this, then mobile data works well in our area. If you work from home there is a chance your connection will be interrupted while you switch sources. We have a dedicated office room with aircon.
