We are looking for a dog-loving house sitter(s) for about 4 weeks (August 6 - September 6) but our dates are flexible. The dogs love people and these days they like to just hang out at home and lay around in the company of humans. Our yard is fenced so they just need to be let out (no walking necessary). Our house is in a lovely area - several blocks from the beach where you can walk down for “fireworks Friday’s” in the summer or enjoy the park/beach anytime. There is often live music in the summer. We are a 40 minute train ride to Manhattan
The dogs are mellow, friendly and happy and like human companionship. They need to be fed in the morning and evening and let out throughout the day and right before bed time. They can be left alone for about 6 hours - if gone for much longer we have a neighbor let them out.
Rye is a charming suburb of New York City with a historic feel, a vibrant atmosphere, and a variety of attractions. It is a coastal town located on the Long Island Sound. Attractions include Rye Town Park, Rye Playland (a historic amusement park), The Tiki Bar and Restaurant, the Westchester Children's Museum, the Edith Reade Wildlife Sanctuary, kayak launches and fishing piers all within walking distance along a beautiful boardwalk (the beach is 3 blocks away). There are fireworks on Fridays, July 10 through Sept. 4 at the beach and often live music at the park, the barley House and the Tiki Bar. Just blocks away are two delicatessens, a pizza place, and several restaurants (Milton Point Provisions, On the Way Cafe, Ora Steakhouse, Barley House, Yaku Puruvian). Downtown Rye has a variety of restaurants. Our home is a 3/4 bedroom, 3 bath with front and side porches to dine or lounge outside. We have two private offices, two separate living areas with large screen TV's, exercise equipment (rowing machine, free weights, ab machine). The yard is fenced for the dogs. We have kayaks and bikes for use.
There are steps leading up to our house, as well as stairs within the house, so it is not accessible for those with mobility considerations. Please send an email if this sounds interesting to you and address it to Bob and Toby (the dogs).
No, sorry.
