About this assignment

We are looking for an experienced, friendly sitter who understands dogs - you will be looking after two collie-mix breed rescues, who are very friendly and loving but will definitely require a dog lover, preferably who has some experience of rescue dogs. We are happy to talk to individuals but feel this sit would best suit a couple.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Our dogs, Ernie and Merry, are the main responsibility - walking, feeding, and in the vcase of Ernie administering medicine once daily (this is simply a tablet in his morning food, so not complicated!). We also have three guinea pigs who will need food, hay, and fresh water daily. We will give more detail about walking the dogs in further communication.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are a 15 minute walk away from a popular local beach, 20 minutes walk from the lovely town of Falmouth, and walking distance to other beaches. The property has a good sized living room, with TV including access to Netflix and Disney+, and a large variety of board games. The kitchen is well equipped and has a dining table, coffee machine, microwave, and all other basic equipment. We have a downstairs toilet and upstairs toilet/shower room. The room our sitter will sleep in is a double room at the front of the property. We also have an enclosed garden - it isn't looking its best after the lack of rain here recently but it is secure for the dogs to be let out in and you are welcome to sit out there if the weather permits!
We have friendly, helpful neighbours who can be on hand should you need anything.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our dogs are both rescues - they were rescued as puppies so have known each other most of their lives. They are both very friendly and love people, playing, and lots of fuss, but both have some behaviours that will require a little patience and understanding. This is why we feel a couple would find this house sit easier, and particularly if one or both of you have experience with rescue dogs. Don't let that put you off though! It will be a lovely weekend away for the right person/people, and we are very easy going and happy to talk through everything in detail beforehand.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
